William Kentridge, Rose Shavinovsky and Claire Gavronsky Collaboration

William Kentridge, Rose Shavinovsky and Claire Gavronsky were visiting DKP at Arts on Main to handpaint and sign some of their collaboration prints.

The image was started in February 2009 when Rosenclaire were the artists in residence at Nirox. The three artists were discussing art and each of them drew a self-portrait onto the copper plate from their reflections. There are also three bowls in the image that are pouring liquid (expectant fluid) which are references to Marcel Duchamp. The words (Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos) are the names of three Fates from Greek mythology who dealt with the lives of people from birth, life expectancy to death. The print is to be released April/May 2011.
