There’s a kudu on my stoep
There’s a Kudu on my Stoep is a silkscreen print by Zhi Zulu that was completed in 2022 at the David Krut Workshop in Maboneng, alongside collaborating printer Roxy Kaczmarek. This work forms part of Zhi Zulu’s silkscreen series The Curious Five that captures a comical take on the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg. The title There’s a Kudu on my Stoep is a fun play on words that references the film There’s a Zulu on my Stoep (1993, Hofmeyr, Schuster). The works shows a large kudu that is lying leisurely on the busy road in Maboneng under the well-known Maboneng bridge in the art precint.
