Little Gidding (or Yellow Bile), 2019
Responding to a long history of artists using the self portrait to examine social status and delve into internal psychological depths Humorism (After Eliot and da Messina) marks Mikhael Subotzky’s first foray into printmaking. Focusing on white masculine vulnerability this series of prints was created in concert with a new body of work Massive Nerve Corpus, a solo presentation of paintings drawings and collages (May 19 2019 at Goodman Gallery Johannesburg).
