Breath, 2017
In this work, a dark horse with an empty saddle appears poised above a figure in repose. One of the horse’s hooves is hand-painted blue, resonating with the gold that appears across the background of the print. Both horse and figure float above an expansive landscape, which suggests a spiritual dimension rather than a physical one. Breath encourages the viewer to reflect on that moment of inhale and exhale, on space, or lack thereof, and on one’s presence.
