‘Siestog’, 2003

This is an exceptional fine art edition produced in our workshop in 2003 with Penny Siopis and Master Printer Randy Hemminghaus. The work is quite complex and multi-layered and was although is a print, there are many original hand-worked sections by Penny and the layers are many.  It is printed from two large copperplates + 2 small plates + there is layer of monotype (unique hand-painting created by Penny) as the first layer that the rest is added on top of.  As a finishing touch, Penny hand-stamped each work with text that reads Shame.  Using a method called a la poupe, the plates were selectively hand wiped in 12 colours. A very ambitious print, with so many added layers hand-worked by the artist, each numbered print in the edition is quite unique.
