Sisyphus ZA, 2011

This image was created with a drypoint needle, as both artists, Rose Shakinovsky and Claire Gavronsky, known jointly as Rosenclaire, followed a dung beetle as he pushed dung. Both artists worked on the plate simultaneously. This image was printed with a custom mix of Charbonnel 55981, Charbonnel 55985 and Graphic Chemical Bone Black.

*Sisyphus ZA was printed in January 2010 for the exhibition re-collection at the Goodman Gallery, Cape Town, February 2010. As editioning progressed, the original drypoint mark was lost. The edition was incomplete and only one print was numbered as 1/10. Two years later, Rosenclaire re-worked the plate and an edition of 12 was completed. See detail of edition breakdown below.
