Workshop Weekly: Phumulani Ntuli

WORKSHOP
WEEKLY

This week we welcomed back Phumulani Ntuli to the workshop.

Ntuli spent a couple of days at the end of March, working with DKW (David Krut Workshop) Printer Kim-Lee Loggenberg-Tim, planning collages as references. He is now back and moving into printing and finalising the monotypes.

These unique prints are constructed from pronto litho printed on thin Tosa Washi paper with hand drawn elements. These are then run through the press to adhere / chine collé the pieces along with a layer of watercolour monotype.

His planning for each image is labour intensive, intricate and extensive. It all comes together in that final moment when the print is lifted off the press.
