A Million Unheard Suns by Neville Starling

David Krut Projects and the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) is pleased to present A Million Unheard Suns by Neville Starling as part of the KKNK Virtual Gallery experience.

This work was created for the group exhibition Another Kind of Blue , curated by Gallery Director Ame Bell. Artists were invited to create work within the blue colour spectrum with a focus on art and the artist’s connection with earth and its elements. Starling’s work re-contextualises the universal visual, agnostic and temporal dichotomy of the blue of the dusk sky and the bright warmth of the sun; a finite call to action highlights courses of normalisation as it pursues this contrast through the prophetic framework of a final day where long shadows summon our very last night.

The physical installation was installed at David Krut Projects at 142 Jan Smuts Avenue Parkwood in July 2020.
