Friedrich Danielis in conversation with David Krut ALSO FEATURING Friedrich Danielis at DKW, 2008 The African Youth Ensemble, performance with concert cellist Susan Salm
Austrian artist Friedrich Danielis has twice visited South Africa as the guest of the Austrian Embassy. Friedrich and his wife Susan Salm, an accomplished concert cellist, divide their time between Vienna, Venice and New York. They were in South Africa to teach master classes in art and music to students in Soweto and Johannesburg. Friedrich is a true Renaissance man and in this fascinating conversation with David Krut he discusses his ideas on art, human creativity and aspects of South African art and culture. TAXI Art Films is an extension of TAXI Art Books, the first major series by a South African publisher on contemporary South African artists. South Africa’s wonderfully diverse cultural heritage contributes to inspired artmaking and other creative activities, and TAXI Art Films showcases some of this local art and design talent. The films continue the dedication of David Krut Publishing to promoting and celebrating South African art, culture, design and varchitecture both locally and abroad.
