Persiphone, 2025
Persiphone inverts the movement through chthonic descent. Where Ganymede ascends, Persiphone descends into the underworld. The blue monochrome field with central target imagery creates focal depth – a pulling inward and downward. The work’s chromatic restraint and geometric precision contrast sharply with Ganymede’s warmth, establishing the sequence’s vertical axis: up/down, warm/cool, expansion/concentration. Both figures experience transformation through abduction, becoming liminal beings caught between realms.
