A lifetime of Enthusiasm

William Kentridge, widely considered one of the most important artists to emerge in the last decade, was born in Johannesburg in 1955 where he continues to live and work today.

Kentridge’s works—drawings, films, theatre and opera productions—remark on the social injustice and apartheid of South Africa. Steeped in his homeland’s history, his prints and films tend to be palimpsestic in construction, created through vigorous assembly and reassembly, and allusive in form and content. From the Louvre in Paris to the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Kentridge’s art has graced museums and galleries all over the world since the 1990s.

This collection features posters from some of Kentridge’s most prominent and important shows over the years.
