Nditsheni Managa

Nditsheni Managa (b. 1982) is a full-time visual artist based in Johannesburg working primarily with acrylic on canvas as well as mixed media with chalk pastel. Managa’s art frequently features themes of nature, landscapes, and trees, using textured layers and vibrant detail. He also creates cityscapes, showing the influence of the city of Johannesburg on his work.

Nditsheni Managa (b. 1982) was born and grew up in the village Ha-Matsa in Nzhelele, Limpopo. Nditsheni moved to Pretoria after the completion of his secondary education, the goal was to broaden his opportunities and study. Two years after staying in Pretoria he moved to Johannesburg.  Since his move to Johannesburg Nditsheni has worked at Art Gallery on Milner, completed a three year part time printmaking course with Artist Proof Studio, obtained a certificate in Professional Practice in the Visual Art Seminar with Artsource South Africa. Nditsheni continues to work with Little Artist School Project, whilst also building his career as a professional artist. He is a full-time artist who works with acrylics and mixed media, often focusing on themes of growth, resilience, and the connection between humanity and the environment. Managa's art frequently features themes of nature, landscapes, and trees, using textured layers and vibrant detail. He also creates cityscapes, showing the influence of the city of Johannesburg on his work. At the 2025 Rodean Art Fair, David Krut became aware of Managa's workand invited him to come and expand his work resources at the David Krut Workshop at Arts on Main in the inner city, in October of the same year. The watercolour monotype works on paper have proved to be a wonderful new resource for Managa in collaboration with Sbongiseni Khulu and the team at DKW, and his confidence and his mark-making has expanded considerably. The works on paper created during this collaboration are entitled Treescapes Series.
