New York City’s Garment District Alliance has chosen Chakaia Booker for the Summer of 2014 as their public installation artist.
Booker’s series of five fantastical sculptures titled, The Sentinels stand guard between 36th and 39th, just north of Herald square. Her sculptures are made of rubber tires, which are cut and rigorously arranged into beautifully graceful, sinister monuments. Don’t miss this display – on from now until November 2014.
