Vusi Khumalo signing

Vusi Khumalo, whose Untitled collograph was recently editioned by David Krut Print Workshop, visited our gallery on Jan Smuts Avenue to sign the hand-worked ‘ghosts’ from the editioning. In printmaking terms the collograph is inked and then run through the press to create the image. The ‘ghost’ occurs when the collograph is run through the press a second time in order to transfer the residual ink that remains on the plate following the first pull. Khumalo took these five ‘ghosts’ back to his studio to paint and draw onto them further. These works are now available from David Krut Projects.

The images below show Khumalo signing the prints while in conversation with David Krut.
