The woodblocks by Anna van der Ploeg are made using bending plywood. The plywood is carved by hand, then sealed, before being painted with oil paint. The paint is sanded and carved into; this process is repeated until the piece is finished. Each woodblock is sealed with a polyurethane-based varnish. All of the woodblocks are mounted on a curved backing structure; they are not flat.
