Olivié Keck (b.1989, Cape Town) received a BA(FA) from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town in 2011 and has since shown in numerous group exhibitions. She had her first solo show ‘False Priest’ in 2014, and in 2015 received an International Art Residency (AIR) at the Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, USA. In March 2017 Keck will be participating on an international print residency at Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium.
Working with a variety of techniques and forms such as fabric, printmaking, drawing, embroidery and ceramics, and with a narrative and process driven approach, Keck ventures to decipher the transient natural world and her place within it. The fragile materiality of her work closely mirrors her working concepts and the emotional play of creation and story-telling.
