Born in 1967 in Leipzig, Germany. Baumgartner studied at the Hochschule fur Grafik and continued her education with a Masters of Art in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art, London. She currently lives and works in Leipzig. Best know for her extraordinary woodcut prints, generated from her own video stills and films, Baumgartner’s prints have been exhibited widely all over the world. Her work is held in over 30 public collections, including the Metropolitant Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Mordern Art, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Paris; the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Berlin; and the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia.
